This project was completed for Mythen Construction on a live school in Knockbeg in Carlow over the course of a year. Works included the demolition of sections of the old school building, and a Gym in advance of the new build. Notifiable and non-notifiable asbestos were removed as part of our works.
Given that the majority of the works were required to be completed with the school still live, the works were co-ordinated and phased in advance, to ensure minimal disruption to the school.
Demolition to certain sections of buildings was then completed during the summer when the school was closed.
One of the main challenges on this project besides working in a live school area, was the demolition of buildings within confined areas, where old buildings were to remain, and new sections of the school were being built around us.
This was overcome by continually communicating and liaising with the client to ensure that all works were planned in detail.
